Ormeau Woods State High School has a variety of Excellence Programs.
Aspire and school wide positive behaviour support awards
The Aspire Program is an initiative which recognizes the effort and behaviour of our students in class irrespective of their academic results. The Ormeau Bank rewards consistent respectful behaviour for individuals and classes in line with our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support policy.
Gifted and talented program
Our Gifted and Talented Policy recognises students who are achieving, or have the potential to achieve, at a level significantly beyond their peer group.
Opportunities include formal recognition in Education Queensland as a Gifted and Talented student and/or self contained classes, extension programs, independent learning tasks, competitions or accelerated curriculum.
The Honours Program recognises students who have performed at exceptionally high academic levels. The program fosters a positive work ethic, provides opportunities for students to perform at the highest levels and rewards them for their endeavours. To be invited to participate in the Honours Program, students need to achieve and maintain high academic standards. Throughout the year, members of the Honours Program are offered a range of opportunities to represent the school at prestigious functions and participate in extension and enrichment activities.
