Transport to and from school
While the Queensland Government acknowledges the necessity for the education of students and accepts responsibility for the provision of education facilities within the State it is the responsibility of the parent to make suitable travel arrangements for their children to attend these facilities.
Bus passes for students who live more than 4.8km from the school have to be arranged by parents directly through the bus companies. Bus pass applications and information about eligibility can be downloaded from the Surfside Buslines website (under School services).
Behaviour is monitored by the drivers, the bus companies and the school. A student may lose their bus pass if they demonstrate unacceptable behaviour on the bus or whilst waiting for the bus. Students must travel directly to and from school by bus and not loiter at any other venues.
All bike riders must wear helmets and must leave their bikes with helmets chained to their bikes in the bike enclosure. Bicycles must not be ridden in the school grounds.
Students are not to bring skateboards and scooters to school or ride them in the school grounds at any time.
Parents who deliver and/or collect students from school are urged to avoid blocking exits, bus areas and the vision of other drivers by double parking. Cars driven by students are not permitted to be parked on school grounds.
