Students with additional needs

Student Support Services

The Student Support Services (SSS) department is dedicated to delivering an inclusive education for all students.
Inclusive education means that students can access and fully participate in learning, supported by reasonable adjustments and teaching strategies tailored to meet their individual needs. We aim to develop the individual by identifying academic, social and emotional needs, building on student strengths and interests, as well as closing gaps.
As a school we pride ourselves on the achievements of all students. SSS departments focus is to identify the deficits, remove the barriers, increase resilience and celebrate the fantastic outcomes of the individual.
The programs we offer aim to increase student capacity in all Key Learning Areas (KLA) with a huge emphasis on vocational training and employability.
Any Student with a Disability wanting to enrol at Ormeau Woods State High School will need to apply through the schools required enrolment procedures.
