Student Bursaries

Ormeau Woods State High School is excited to offer current Year 6 students the opportunity to apply for one of eight Pillar Bursaries.

 

Our vision is to be a leading Queensland school where students have the opportunity to excel in:

  • Academic studies,
  • Cultural and creative fields,
  • Sporting pursuits, and
  • Community service and leadership

As part of our vision, Ormeau Woods is offering Bursaries for students who display outstanding qualities in one or more of the Four Pillars listed above.

​Benefits for students:

As part of the Bursary, successful applicants receive:
  • one Formal Junior Uniform,
  • one Sports Uniform,
  • one winter jacket,
  • School Resource Scheme participation (for one year, once enrolled),
  • one iPad and apple pencil (on commencement of Year 7)
 
The Bursary is for one year only.
 

Eligibility Prerequisites:
To be eligible, students must demonstrate outstanding performance in one of the Four Pillars (Academic, Cultural, Sporting or Community)

Two (2) Bursaries are available for each Pillar

*Students can apply for more than one Pillar Bursary but can only receive one if successful.

 Bursary Application Process
To be considered for a Bursary, students must:
  1. Complete the Student Bursary Application Form. 
  2. Gain endorsement and support from current Principal.
  3. Indicate which bursary you are applying for and why you believe you would be a worthy recipient (min 100 words).
  4. Submit relevant supporting documentation which may include copies of academic reports, certificates, awards, references, photos, and/or portfolios.
  5. Submit completed Enrolment paperwork.
  6. Submit completed application via email to enrolments@ormeauwoodsshs.eq.edu.au ​or deliver to The Executive Services Office, Ormeau Woods State High School, 148 Goldmine Road, Ormeau 4208 
  7. Attend an interview (if required).

*Please note: Applicants must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, exceptional behaviour and be a worthy ambassador for the school. Students applying for Bursaries must have a good academic profile.​
