P&C

What is a P&C committee

A Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association is the voice of the parents, carers, community members, staff and students in the life of the school. It works in partnership with the principal and school leadership to support student learning and development, wellbeing, and school improvement.
The OWSHS P&C cares about the students of OWSHS and seeks to provide opportunities that enable each student to develop individually to be better humans and therefore to take their place in bettering our Australian community.

Our work

Alongside working in partnership with the principal and school leadership, the P&C also manages our school canteen. The canteen provides nutritious, affordable meals for students and funding from the canteen is used to support opportunities and positive outcomes for all students.

Over the past 12 months, our P&C has delivered a strong program of community building, advocacy, and investment that has made a real difference for our students and staff.

  • Running club hats, Music program shirts, Kokoda Leadership program participation, Year 7 camp (increased accessibility for all students through reduced camp cost), volleyball equipment, Year 6 O-week lunch.

Joining our OWSHS Parents and Citizens Association is a great way to get involved in our school community where we all work together to support the students and staff with raising funds to enhance our students learning outcomes.

Being a member of our P&C keeps you up-to-date with what is happening around our school, contributing to your child's education and making new friends. We work collaboratively to improve the facilities around our school and assist us in the decision-making processes that help to shape our school's future and your ongoing support is invaluable.
Did you know that the Ormeau Woods SHS P&C also supports our school by selling Entertainment Memberships? Support our school and give a gift that keeps on giving!
Meetings are held from 5:30pm on the 3rd Monday of each month (between February and November) in the Executive Services Building, Ormeau Woods State High School. Meetings are where updates on school activities and some of the decisions affecting activities at school are made.

Each year, in March, an Annual General Meeting is held. The Resource Centre is the venue for the Annual General Meeting. All interested parents, caregivers and community members are welcome to attend.
