Good afternoon Year 7 Parents/Guardians,

This information relates to all students who are attending camp on Monday and also to those who will be remaining at school, so please read through the information that is relevant to your child.

Students Attending Camp

  1. Arrive at school by 8:30am Monday morning and assemble under the Lecture Centre for roll marking, activity/cabin grouping and final messages.
  2. Bus will depart at 10am.
  3. Please remember to follow the packing list when preparing for camp and pay close attention to the prohibited items list. Anything that is not allowed to come on camp will be confiscated. No aerosol cans will be permitted. Information attached to email.
  4. If your child requires medication of ANY kind (including hay fever tablets, Panadol, eye-drops), a separate Consent to administer medication form needs to be submitted and all medication handed to staff, clearly labelled with your child's name and in a zip lock bag. No medication is able to remain in the possession of your child. If you believe you need to fill out a separate form and have not heard from Leeanne Carter, please contact her on lcart145@eq.edu.au Please check your junk email folder before making contact. The form is also attached to this email.
  5. If you have not yet returned a signed permission slip, please send to me directly ASAP.
  6. Behaviour while at camp: Please be aware that any serious behaviours that are in breach of our Student Code of Conduct while on camp will not be tolerated. Students who engage in these types of behaviours will be required to be picked up from the camp by their parent/guardian. If in the case this is not possible, a staff member will bring the student/s back to school to be picked up. They will not be allowed to stay on camp.

Returning from Camp – Wednesday 22nd Feb

  1. We will be departing camp on Wednesday at 2pm, and hope to be back by 3pm. We will provide updates regarding our ETA via our Facebook page and school website. We will not make it back to school in time for children to catch their normal bus. Please ensure you make arrangements to pick up your child from school as they won't be able to make their bus.

Students Remaining at School

  1. Students remaining at school will be organised into collapsed classes for the duration of the three days. A range of engaging Literacy and Numeracy lessons have been arranged for each period.
  2. On Monday and Tuesday, remaining year 7 students will go to their usual futures classes for roll mark and then assemble under Innovate, at 8:45am, to be organised into their classes for each day. On Wednesday, they will assemble under Innovate as soon as the bell goes at 8:30am.
  3. If your child will be absent on any of the three days, you will still need to notify the school as per usual process.

If you have any questions relating to the above information, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,

Libby Graves

Head of Year 7
