When enrolling other t​​han directly from Primary School, testing will be required followed by an interview with one of the four​ Deputy Principal's to insure the school has everything needed to arrange subjects and timetables prior to starting school.  Once testing is complete, you will receive a phone call from the Enrolments Officer to book in an interview at a convenient time.

How do I know if I can Enrol at Ormeau Woods SHS

Everyone is welcome to apply however, due to enrolment capacity and growth in the area it is necessary for Ormeau Woods State High School to manage its enrolments.  Please check if you reside within the local school catchment area by looking at the Education Department edMap which outlines the local school catchment areas. 

Students who reside outside the school's catchment boundary and still wish to enrol at the school will also need to complete the Out of Catchment Appeal Process. You will then be placed on a waiting list in order of receipt of application and be notified if the appeal has been successful.

How to submit enrolment package

Before submitting your enrolment application please ensure you have all the required documents and both the parent/caregiver and student have signed in all required places to ensure a smooth enrolment process. 

· Completed Enrolment Application forms

· 2x Proof of Residence 

Proof of Residence must have the parents name and address on the following documents which relate to the residing property (a current rates bill, lease or rental agreement, gas, water or power bills, internet connection). 

We do not accept drivers’ licences, bank statements or Centrelink documents

· Copy of student’s Birth Certificate or Valid Passport

· Latest Report Card​


Documents can be returned the paper copy to the Executive Services Building at Ormeau Woods State High School during Office Hours.

Please note - When submitting your enrolment pack via email, please sent your documents as an attachment NOT via a 3rd party external file sharing programs (such as – Google Drive, iCloud and non-EQ OneDrive).  These files cannot be accessed on Education Queensland devices and we can therefore not open.  If you have any questions on how to send your enrolment pack please contact our IT Department on (07) 5540 9222 or email IT@ormeauwoodsshs.eq.edu.au​
