Ormeau
Woods State High School offers students in all year levels a wide range of
sporting opportunities throughout the year.
Our interschool Champs Days offers students the opportunity to represent
and compete in Touch Football, Soccer, Basketball, Netball, Rugby League and
Volleyball.
School Carnivals
Throughout the year, Ormeau Woods holds annual swimming,
cross country and athletics carnivals. These carnivals are designed to maximise student participation and building of relationships.
Splashfest (swimming carnival) starts off each year in Term 1. This carnival
allows students the opportunity to compete at their own level and build house spirit.
Run in the Sun (cross country) is a day that
not only allows students the opportunity to compete in cross country and
qualify for the school district team, but also a day where the student council will
raise money for a chosen charity to support.
Ormeaulympics is our annual athletics carnival, held in Term 2. Again, a fun day had by all students and
staff involved, as well as an opportunity provided for students to raise money for
various school endeavours on the day through a number of different fun
activities available.
Students are allocated to one of six Sports Houses for inter-house sport education activities upon enrolment:
Representative Sport (District Sport)
Ormeau Woods is part of the Pacific District Sports Region
where students are offered the opportunity to trial and progress through from
