School Commences​

Tuesday 27 January 2026  |  YEAR 7 and 12 only

Year 7 students will meet in the PAC (Performing Arts Centre)  - where students will receive a printed copy of their timetable.

Year 12 students will meet in the Resource Centre.  Timetables will be emailed.

Wednesday 28 January 2026  |  All Students Years 7-12 to Attend

Year 7 - 11 students will attend a Year Level Assembly at 8.30am

Year 7 – PAC (Performing Arts Centre)

Year 8 – MPC (Multi Purpose Centre)

Year 9 – Under the Lecture Centre

Year 10 – Southern Amenities

Year 11 – Under Innovate

Year 12 - RLM (please go directly to your RLM classroom)

8-12 timetables will be emailed to all students – please make sure you can access your email. Timetables can also be viewed on QParents.

All new students are to go to the Resource Centre to collect a printed copy of their timetable.

NOTE: If you are unable to access your emails or OneSchool to view your timetable because your password needs to be reset, please head to the Resource Centre BEFORE 8.30am on your first day of school to have it reset.

REMINDER : School starts at 8.30am each day. If you arrive any time after 8.30am you are to go directly to the Student Counter to sign in.

All Families must sign up to QParents for 2026

You no longer need a unique invitation code to set up your QParents account.

Just visit https://qparents.qld.edu.au/onboarding/invitation-code to create your account. Skip the invitation code and follow the prompts. You can then download the app on our phone or visit the QParents site on your PC.

A quick reminder that in 2026, Ormeau Woods SHS will transition to using QParents for ALL permission forms so all families will need an account.

Splashfest - Swimming Carnival

Tuesday 10 February

Competitive swimmers can collect their Splashfest permission forms at their year level assemblies on their first day back at school.

Important Splashfest Details:

• For students not attending the carnival, it will be a normal school day, and attendance is expected.
• invoices will be emailed home to families
  
• Payment and permission notes are due Friday 6 February
• Competitors only in Years 7 to 11
  
• All Year 12 students and AoFX and AoRL are expected to attend.

SCHOOL PHOTO DAY​

Student school ph​​otographs will be taken for ALL year levels on Wednesday 4 February 2026. Should a student be absent on this day for any reason, there is a catch-up day on Wednesday 11 February 2026.

ALL students must be in FORMAL SCHOOL UNIFORM.  Photos are also used for their Student ID card.  Every student requires a school photo regardless of purchasing.

TRAVELLING TO SCHOOL

Bus passes will be handed out to students when they arrive from the bus company. Students can travel to and from school without a Bus Pass during this time.​

ENROLMENTS

If you are new to the school and yet to enrol please visit our Enrolments page to download your Enrolment paperwork.  Enrolment does not roll over from your primary school and must be provided prior to students starting. 

The Enrolments Officer will contact new enrolments to arrange interview times if not enrolling directly from primary school.

EARLY PICK UP PROCESS

If you know you will be collecting your student/s up early please arrange a Leave Request, or phone ahead to advise you are on your way to collect a student. This saves on waiting times and interruptions on class learning.

Leave Requests can be arranged at the office by both students and parents. Information needed is; the reason for the early pickup and the time the student/s is needed at the office for collection.

We can then issue a 'Leave Request' pass.

(Note: if parents call or email please remind your child to come to the Student window to collect their leave request).

Students can then show their teacher the pass, and at the nominated time come and wait at the office for your arrival.

Parents MUST still come to the office (student counter at the back of Administration) and sign students out before they leave school grounds.
