Setting the pace for high achievement and providing exciting pathways for students to realise their dreams. Our mission is to mentor extraordinary young students to become the next generation of innovative and successful performers in the fields of Academia, Sport and Creative Arts.
The Academy of Academic Excellence program at Ormeau Woods State High School provides a pathway to enrich the development of creative and connected thinkers through high quality teaching that promotes intentional collaboration and deep learning. We recognise that gifted students have advanced learning capacity compared to same age peers and that specific learning needs must be met to allow high achievement, the realisation of potential, and positive wellbeing outcomes.
Within AoDI we work to develop cohesive, versatile and nuanced dance professionals who are diverse and prepared for a multifaceted career. We aim to develop adaptable dancers who are highly skilled, socially responsible and ready for entry into professional dance industry employment upon graduating from Ormeau Woods State High School.
AoMI exposes students to a wide range of professional digital media industry techniques and skills in a creative and high expectation environment. Students develop skillsets integral for careers in Photography, Video Production, Graphic Design and New Media platforms and industries.
The Ormeau Woods Football program is committed to empowering young players to fulfil their potential and provide opportunity through excellent football coaching and mentorship that enhances skills, knowledge and personal growth.
Our Rugby League program, led by head coach Ben Hannant, prioritise both athletic growth and player wellbeing. We aim to develop Rugby League players who are positive community contributors, have strong character and serve as role models and leaders in the school.
